Meet Our Upper Cervical Chiropractor

Greg Dutson, DC was born and raised in North Idaho. After honorably serving in the U.S. Navy, he earned his doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer College and graduated with both academic and research honors.

While in high school Dr. Dutson suffered from chronic headaches and neck pain following a motorcycle accident. His doctor at the time informed him that the chronic pain was a residual from the accident and he would just have to learn to live with it. It wasn’t until four years later that a medical physician in the Navy recommended he see a chiropractor that he realized there was hope. The chiropractic care he received completely resolved his chronic neck pain and headaches. While under care he learned that the body can often heal naturally when the nervous system is functioning optimally.

It was at that moment that he decided that he would become a chiropractor so that he could help others experience hope and healing just like he did.

Before moving to Texas, Dr. Dutson practiced general chiropractic in Idaho for 20 years. While there he was appointed by the Governor to the Idaho Board of Chiropractic Examiners and also served on the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. While practicing in Idaho, Dr. D used to refer difficult and severe cases to an upper cervical chiropractor because he would often see his patients obtaining amazing results that they weren’t achieving with the care he’d been providing as a general chiropractor. An added plus was that specific upper cervical care did not require any twisting, popping or cracking of the neck. It was this personal experience that drove Dr. Dutson to return for advanced, post-graduate training in upper cervical care and the neurology of the Cranio-Cervical Junction (head, upper neck, and brainstem.) Even after all these years, he is still passionate about keeping up with the latest research and providing gentle and precise upper cervical care. It’s exciting to see lives changed through upper cervical care. Dr. Dutson has postgraduate training in Orthospinology, NUCCA, Atlas Orthogonal (AO), Functional Neurology and Vestibular Rehabilitation.

Although North Idaho will always be home, he lives in San Antonio with his wife Kristi. Between them, they share four wonderful children…three live here in Texas and one in Washington. He enjoys time with family & his dogs, Shelby, and Mr. Bo. Dr. Dutson is a cowboy at heart and he enjoys music along with his favorite spectator sport: Rodeo…The toughest sport on dirt!
